Explore calorie needs, meal structure, activity options, recovery habits, and an optional body-proportion reference in one privacy-conscious planning tool.

Questions and answers

Review these explanations before entering your planning information.

What is the general adult screening range for my height?

The height reference calculates the weights associated with BMI 18.5, 22.5, and 24.9 for adults age 20 and older.

Where am I currently, and what does my personal planning estimate show?

Enter your age, height, and current weight to view your current BMI screening category and planning estimates. Optional waist information adds a waist-to-height reference.

Is the central reference weight my required goal?

No. It is a mathematical reference point, not a prescribed ideal weight. Muscle, bone structure, body composition, health conditions, and professional guidance can support a different goal.

What happens when my BMI is far above the upper screening boundary?

The full screening range remains a reference rather than an immediate target. Gradual planning and individualized professional guidance are appropriate.

What happens when BMI is below 18.5?

This tool should not be used to automate further weight loss below the lower screening boundary. Seek individualized professional guidance.

How are older adults and athletic builds handled?

Adults 65 and older and muscular or athletic builds may need context beyond BMI because BMI is a screening measure rather than a diagnosis.

Is the military comparison a civilian health standard?

No. It is an optional U.S. Army program reference and remains hidden unless selected.

Educational planning tool for adults age 20 and older. Estimates are not a diagnosis, prescription, military eligibility decision, or substitute for individualized care. Do not use while pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak with a qualified clinician before major diet or exercise changes, especially with a medical condition, medication, injury, or eating-disorder history.

Meal and macro planner

Translate a daily calorie estimate into an optional meal structure. Percentages are adjustable and must total 100%.

Estimated daily macros

Based on 4 calories per gram for carbohydrate and protein, and 9 calories per gram for fat.

200 gcarbohydrate/day
150 gprotein/day
67 gfat/day

About 667 calories per meal across 3 meals.

This is arithmetic, not a prescribed diet. Food quality, allergies, kidney or metabolic conditions, medication, and individual needs can materially change an appropriate plan.

Exercise and equipment comparison

After calculation, estimates below update for the current weight and sort from highest to lowest calories per 30 minutes. Calorie burn varies with pace, technique, fitness, and equipment.

Only the selected level is shown. Groups use the example MET estimates: Low up to 3; Middle above 3 and below 6; High 6 and above. Impact is listed separately.

Cycle Integrity principles

The calculator is one small part of a broader wellness cycle.

1. Nourish

Use sustainable calories, adequate protein and fiber, hydration, and minimally processed foods—not extreme restriction.

2. Move

Build from ability: more daily movement, aerobic activity, and strength work. Low impact can still be effective.

3. Recover

Sleep, stress management, rest days, and gradual progression help preserve the cycle instead of exhausting it.

Method and source notes
Energy estimates use the Mifflin–St Jeor resting-energy equation and standard activity multipliers; exercise estimates use the MET calculation (MET × 3.5 × kg ÷ 200 × minutes). These are planning estimates, not measurements. The CDC notes that gradual loss of about 1–2 pounds per week is more likely to be maintained. The NIH Body Weight Planner is the preferred federal tool for more advanced modeling. Current Army guidance (July 2026) replaced legacy height/weight tables with waist-to-height ratio; less than 0.55 is the Army compliance marker. It is shown here only as an optional reference, not a civilian ideal or a target weight.
